Beach Yoga & Beach Tai Chi 

Classes run from Tuesday, May 17th thru Thursday, October 6th from 10 AM to 11AM. Classes are offered every Tuesday and Thursday

2022 SAFETY TOWN starts June 13, 2022

Safety Town is an educational program available to children planning to enter kindergarten in the Fall of 2022. The program helps children learn basic safety lessons, while becoming familiar with the school setting. This is a TWO-WEEK program, Monday-Wednesday both weeks -- 9am-noon, held at Shawnee Elementary School.  More information at:   **ONLINE PROGRAM REGISTRATION **


2022 SAFETY TOWN EXTENDED CAMP--Immediately following Safety Town

EXTENDED CAMP is held at Shawnee Elementary immediately following Safety Town. This is an optional, additional program available to Safety Town students. LIMITED AVAILABILITY. June 13-15 & June 20-22, Noon - 2:30pm. Fun acitivities with arts, crafts, indoor and outdoor games. Pack a Lunch. SEASONAL OPPORTUNTIES -- Nickel Plate Gate Attendant, Parks Maintenance. and Dock Hand -- Dependable, Weekend Availability, and Valid Drivers License required for all Seasonal jobs.  Submit City of Huron General Application Form.


Walking at Woodlands -- Monday-Thursdays on School Days 

Beginning November 1st -- Safe, indoor walking!  FREE program, no registration required.  Enjoy the health benefits of walking without worrying about the weather.  Monday through Thursdays, 6pm - 7:30pm on School Days.  No Walking if school is closed or cancelled.  Click here for more information on building access.  Our thanks to Huron City Schools for providing access to Woodlands School.  


Nickel Plate Beach Parking Pass 

Nickel Plate 2022 Season Parking Passes on SALE now! Click here for the Order Form. The passes will also be available at the Nickel Plate gate and the Parks & Recreation Building, 110 Wall Street. 

Nickel Plate Park is open daily.  No Parking Fee after Labor Day weekend.  NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY.  Click here for IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION. 

Water quality at Nickel Plate Beach and other area beaches, is monitored by the Erie County Health Department DURING SWIMMING SEASON  -- click here to link to their test results.
