YOGA @ Shawnee

Tuesday evenings, 6-7 pm, at Shawnee Elementary School; with instructor Karen Polvinale. Program accomodates all skill levels - beginners welcome!  Pre-registration required. Registration Form

NO YOGA IF SCHOOL IS CANCELLED.  

2016 Winter Session II at Shawnee - Tuesdays 6-7 pm: March 22-May 24 (No class March 29). You can still join this class even though the session has begun - call us at 419-433-8487. Registration Fee: $45 residents/$50 non-residents

 

WALK YOUR WAY TO FITNESS - FREE PROGRAM!

Monday, Wednesday,  and Friday's. May 2- Sept. 26, 2016. Fabens Park - FREE PROGRAM.

BEACH YOGA @ Lake Front Park

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 am - 11 am with instructor Karen Polvinale. Enjoy your workout while inspired by the beauty of Lake Front Park! In the event of inclement weather, class will be held at Christ Episcopal Church. Program accomodates all skill levels - beginners welcome!  Fee per Session: $60 Residents / $65 Non-Residents. 2016 YOUTH INDOOR SOCCER with Huron High School Coaches and Players! 

INDOOR SOCCER @ SHAWNEE - Session II is Thursday evenings, March 3-April 4, 2016 (No soccer on Mar. 31). NO SOCCER IF SCHOOL IS CANCELLED. Two age groups:

 - PK (at least 4 yrs. old)- K - 5:00-5:45 pm.

 - 1st Grade  - 6-7:00 pm. 


2016 SAFETY TOWN 

Available to children entering kindergarten in the Fall of 2016.  This program is administered by Huron Parks & Recreation, with support from the Huron Fraternal Order of Eagles and Huron City Schools. Safety Town is a two week program: June 6-9 and June 13-16, 2016; Monday-Thursday both weeks, no Friday classes.  Classes are held at Shawnee Elementary from 9 am to 11:30 pm. Program fee is $40 for residents; $45 for non-residents. Class size is limited; pre-registration is required. REGISTRATION DEADLINE JUNE 1st.  Click here for more information and registration form.

JUNIOR EXPLORERS CAMP - Available only to children enrolled in the Safety Town Program. Immediately following Safety Town, 11:30am - 2:30 pm (Pack a lunch) at Shawnee Elementary. Two single week sessions, choose one week or two weeks, same dates as Safety Town.  Fun and engaging activities -- designed for younger children as an introduction to Summer Camp.  (WK#1 of Junior Explorer Camp is FULL - still accepting registrations for Week #2 - June 13-16.) Registration form and details. 

Huron Eagles Scholarship Program provides financial assistance for children wishing to participate in Safety Town. Call 419-433-8487 for information. 


  

2016 SUMMER YOUTH SPORTS CAMPS

All Youth Programs require PRE-REGISTRATION. Please use the General Program Registration form -- Register early to avoid cancellation due to low enrollment!

TRACK CAMP - June 8-10, 9:00 - 11:00 am. Huron High School. Ages 6-14. $50 Residents/$55 Non-Residents. 

BASEBALL CAMP - June 13-16, 9:00 - 11:00 am. Ages 6-12, at Fabens Park. Organized by the Huron High School Baseball Coaches & Players. $60 Residents/$65 Non-Residents.

GOLF CAMP - June 20-22, 9:00 - 11:00 am at Mudbrook Driving Range. 1st-8th Grade. Please bring your own clubs. $60 Residents/$65 Non-Residents.

CHEERLEADING CAMP - July 6-8, 9:00 - 11:00 am - Huron High School Stadium. 1st-6th Grades. Child must have completed Kindergarten. $50 Residents/$55 Non-Residents.

SOCCER CAMP - July 11-14, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. Ages 6-14 (camp will be sub-divided by age groups). McCormick Soccer Complex. Organized by the Huron High School Soccer Coaches and Teams. $60 Residents/$65 Non-Residents.

BASKETBALL CAMP - July 18-21, 9:30 - 11:30 am for 3rd-4th Grades;  12:30 - 2:30 pm for 5th-6th Grades. St. Peter School Gym. Camp will be coached by Frank Gioffre, HHS Assistant Boys Varsity Coach. $60 Residents/$65 Non-Residents.

2016 SWIM LESSONS - Huron Lagoons Marina Pool

Choose from three different sessions; Session I is July 5 - 15th (9 scheduled classes -$60 Residents/$65 Non-Residents).  Session II is July 18- July 29th, and Session III is Aug. 1 - Aug. 12th. Both Session II and III are 10 scheduled classes, Monday-Friday for two weeks - $65 Residents/$70 Non-Residents. Please use the General Program Registration form -- Class sizes are limited; register early.

From the East: 

from Route 2, get off a the Route 13/Huron-Norwalk exit. Proceed north to Bogart Rd. Make a left onto Bogart Rd. and go two blocks west to Center St. Make a right onto Center St. Go two blocks north to Adams Ave. Make a left onto Adams Ave and follow into Fabens Park.

From the West:

from Route 2, continue until you pass the Rye Beach Road Exit. Immediately following the Rye Beach Rd. Exit, you will get off the highway at the next exit. Get into the far right lane. This is the Huron/Route 6 exit. The exit will go over Route 2 into downtown. Fabens Park is on your right as you descend the hill off Route 2. At the bottom of the hill, slow down and make a right into the park. The entrance is immediately following the hill and directly off the highway, so please be careful.

From the South:

from Route 250 in Norwalk/Milan, take Route 250 North to Route 12. This is the intersection just outside of Milan at the traffic light with a Fire Station on your right. Make that right and follow Route 13 for approximately 7 miles. You will cross over both the Ohio Turnpike and Route 2. Once you cross Route 2 you will soon be in Huron. Slow your speed to 35 mph. Follow Route 13/Mudbrook Rd. into town. As you come into town, you will make a right onto Bogart Rd. This is the intersection at a car wash and Jim’s Pizza Box Restaurant. Make a left onto Bogart Rd. and continue for two blocks. Make the second right onto Center St. Make the second left onto Adams Ave. Follow Adams Ave. into Fabens Park.
