YOGA at Shawnee  - Spring Yoga session is going on now through May 20, 2014. It's not too late to join--call us at 419-433-8487. This is yoga for people of all ages and fitness levels. Bring water bottle, yoga mat or towel--and be prepared to feel re-energized!  Indoor yoga classes are on Tuesday evenings, 6:00 - 7:00 pm at Shawnee Elementary, 712 Cleveland Rd. East. No class if school is cancelled. Program fee for Spring Yoga Session is $40 residents, $45 non-residents. Click here for Registration Form

BEACH YOGA - Session I:  May 27-June 26.  Session II:  July 1-31.  Session III:  Aug. 5-Sept. 4.  Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10-11:00 am at Lake Front Park. Enjoy your workout while inspired by the beauty of Lake Front Park! Yoga is excellent for developing flexibility, core strength, muscular strength, balance and stress reduction; with instructor Karen Polvinale.  In the event of inclement weather, class will be held at Christ Episcopal Church.  WALK WITH THE DOC - Monday, July 14, 2014 - 6:30 pm, Lake Shore Electric Trail - map (Meet at the parking lot behind the Huron High School football stadium.) Even moderate-level activities, like walking, offer many health benefits! So whether this is your first step toward a healthier lifestyle or an addition to your excercise routine, join us to experience the benefits of walking. Free Event. 

 

Eagles Logo 2014 SAFETY TOWN - June 9-19, 2014, Monday-Thursday both weeks, no Friday classes. Available to all children entering kindergarten in the Fall of 2014. Administered by Huron Parks & Recreation with support from the Huron Fraternal Order of Eagles and the cooperation of Huron City Schools. Held at Shawnee Elementary, 9 am-11:30 am.

This 8-day planned curriculum program incorporates classroom activities and presentations to help familiarize children with the school setting while learning important safety lessons. Program fee is $40 for residents; $45 for non-residents. Class size is limited; pre-registration is required. PLEASE REGISTER BY MAY 19th. Click here for details and registration form.

Huron Eagles Scholarship Program provides financial assistance for children wishing to participate in Safety Town. Call 419-433-8487 for information.

Volunteer Counselors interested in helping with Safety Town: New Counselor application (must be entering 7th grade in the Fall 2014), or Returning Counselor form.

All Youth Programs require PRE-REGISTRATION. Registrations forms can be found on our "Forms" page. Unless a specific form is noted, use the General Program Registration form.  Forms are also available at our office. Please register early to avoid cancellation due to low enrollment!

TRACK CAMP - June 11-13, 9:00 - 11:00 am. Huron High School. Ages 6-14. $45 Residents/$50 Non-Residents. 

HERSHEY TRACK & FIELD - Friday, June 13, 1:00 - 3:00 pm.  Registration 12:30-1:00 pm at Huron High School. Ages 9-14. Free event! Must have proof of age on day of event.

BASEBALL CAMP - June 16-19, 9:00 am - Noon. Ages 6-12, at Fabens Park. Organized by the Huron Baseball Coaches & Players. $60 Residents/$65 Non-Residents.

GOLF CAMP - June 23-25, 9:00 - 11:00 am at Mudbrook Driving Range. 1st-8th Grade. Please bring your own clubs. $60 Residents/$65 Non-Residents.

CHEERLEADING CAMP - July 9-11, 9:00 - 11:00 am - Huron High School Stadium. 1st-6th Grades. Child must have completed Kindergarten. $45 Residents/$50 Non-Residents.

SOCCER CAMP - July 14-17, 8:00 - 10:00 am for ages 6-9;  9:00 am - 12:00 pm for ages 10-14. McCormick Soccer Complex. Organized by the Huron High School soccer coaching staff and teams. $60 Residents/$65 Non-Residents.

BASKETBALL CAMP - July 21-24, 9:30 - 11:30 am for 3rd-4th Grades;  12:30 - 2:30 pm for 5th-6th Grades. St. Peter School Gym. Camp will be coached by Frank Gioffre, HHS Assistant Boys Varsity Coach.  $60 Residents/$65 Non-Residents.

SWIM LESSONS -- at Huron Lagoons Marina Pool (map). Choose from three different sessions; Session I is July 7-18, Session II is July 21-Aug. 1, and Session III is Aug. 4-15.  $60 Residents/$65 Non-Residents.

From the East: 

from Route 2, get off a the Route 13/Huron-Norwalk exit. Proceed north to Bogart Rd. Make a left onto Bogart Rd. and go two blocks west to Center St. Make a right onto Center St. Go two blocks north to Adams Ave. Make a left onto Adams Ave and follow into Fabens Park.

From the West:

from Route 2, continue until you pass the Rye Beach Road Exit. Immediately following the Rye Beach Rd. Exit, you will get off the highway at the next exit. Get into the far right lane. This is the Huron/Route 6 exit. The exit will go over Route 2 into downtown. Fabens Park is on your right as you descend the hill off Route 2. At the bottom of the hill, slow down and make a right into the park. The entrance is immediately following the hill and directly off the highway, so please be careful.

From the South:

from Route 250 in Norwalk/Milan, take Route 250 North to Route 12. This is the intersection just outside of Milan at the traffic light with a Fire Station on your right. Make that right and follow Route 13 for approximately 7 miles. You will cross over both the Ohio Turnpike and Route 2. Once you cross Route 2 you will soon be in Huron. Slow your speed to 35 mph. Follow Route 13/Mudbrook Rd. into town. As you come into town, you will make a right onto Bogart Rd. This is the intersection at a car wash and Jim’s Pizza Box Restaurant. Make a left onto Bogart Rd. and continue for two blocks. Make the second right onto Center St. Make the second left onto Adams Ave. Follow Adams Ave. into Fabens Park.
