YOGA

Winter Yoga Classes are held weekly on Tuesdays evenings, 6:00-7:00 pm at Shawnee Elementary School. No Yoga class if school is cancelled. Pre-registration required-Registration Form.

Yoga is excellent for developing flexibility, core strength, muscular strength, balance and stress reduction; with instructor Karen Polvinale. This program accomodates all skill levels!

2015 Winter Session II is Mar. 24-May 19. No class on April 7th. No class if school is cancelled. Registration Fee: $40 Residents/$45 Non-residents.

 

2015 BEACH YOGA: Enjoy your workout while inspired by the beautiful view from Lake Front Park. All skill levels, including beginners, are welcome!

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:00-11:00 am at Lake Front Park. Registration Fee: $50 Residents/$55 Non-Residents - per session.

Session I: May 26-June 25, 2015

Session II: June 30 - July 30, 2015

Session III: August 4 -September 3, 2015

YOUTH INDOOR SOCCER with Huron High School Soccer Coaches & Players!

2015 Indoor Soccer @ Shawnee - Thursdays; Session II March 5 - April 16, 2015 (Registration is full). NO soccer on April 9 - No soccer if school is cancelled. Two Age Groups -- Pre-K-Kindergarten: 5:00-5:45 pm on Thursdays. 1st-2nd Grade: 6:00-7:00 pm on Thursdays.


2015 SAFETY TOWN

Safety Town is June 8-11 and June 15-18, 9:00-11:30 am, at Shawnee Elementary School. This is a single two-week program, Monday-Thursday both weeks, open to children entering Kindergarten in the Fall. Children learn traffic safety lessons and experience a school bus ride; as well as personal and fire safety concepts. Classes are taught by certified teachers with the help of teen volunteer counselors. More program information is included on the Safety Town Registration form. Our thanks to the Huron Eagles for their continued sponsorship. 

Fun, New Program following Safety Town-- Junior Explorers Camp will be held at Shawnee immediately following Safety Town for both weeks. This program is only available to Safety Town attendees - see the Junior Explorer Camp Registration form for more information.

We are unable to accept any additional Volunteer Counselors for Safety Town -- please check on this page for additional volunteer opportunities later in the season. Thank you!

TRACK CAMP - June 10-12, 9:00 - 11:00 am. Huron High School. Ages 6-14. $45 Residents/$50 Non-Residents. 

New - SOFTBALL CAMP - June 15-18, 9:00 - 11:00 am. Ages 6-12, at Fabens Park. With Huron High School Softball Coaches & Players. $60 Residents/$65 Non-Residents.

GOLF CAMP - June 22-24, 9:00 - 11:00 am at Mudbrook Driving Range. 1st-8th Grade. Please bring your own clubs. $60 Residents/$65 Non-Residents.

BASEBALL CAMP - June 29-July 2, 9:00 am - 11:00 amAges 6-12, at Fabens Park. Organized by the Huron Baseball Coaches & Players. $60 Residents/$65 Non-Residents.

CHEERLEADING CAMP - July 8-10, 9:00 - 11:00 am - Huron High School Stadium. 1st-6th Grades. Child must have completed Kindergarten. $45 Residents/$50 Non-Residents.

SOCCER CAMP - July 13-16, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. Ages 6-14 (Camp will be subdivided by age), at McCormick Soccer Complex. Please wear shin guards. Organized by the Huron High School Soccer Coaches & Players. $60 Residents/$65 Non-Residents.

New - BASIC SAILING COURSE - July 14-15; 8 am - 4 pm. Pack a lunch. Ages 12-17, at Nickel Plate Beach Shelter. Instructors: Sandusky State Watercraft Officers; US Sailing Certified Instructors. This is a beginners sailing course--majority of the course will be on the water using small sailboats. The course covers sailing terminology, rigging and maintenance, and sailing upwind and downwind. All sailboats and safety equipment used for the course are provided. $50 Residents/$60 Non-Residents

BASKETBALL CAMP - July 20-23, 9:30 - 11:30 am for 3rd-4th Grades;  12:30 - 2:30 pm for 5th-6th Grades. St. Peter School Gym. Camp will be coached by Frank Gioffre, HHS Assistant Boys Varsity Coach.  $60 Residents/$65 Non-Residents.

SWIM LESSONS -- at Huron Lagoons Marina Pool. Class size is limited; register early! Choose from three different sessions; Session I is July 6-17, Session II is July 20-July 31, and Session III is Aug. 3-14, 2015.  $65 Residents/$70 Non-Residents.

From the East: 

from Route 2, get off a the Route 13/Huron-Norwalk exit. Proceed north to Bogart Rd. Make a left onto Bogart Rd. and go two blocks west to Center St. Make a right onto Center St. Go two blocks north to Adams Ave. Make a left onto Adams Ave and follow into Fabens Park.

From the West:

from Route 2, continue until you pass the Rye Beach Road Exit. Immediately following the Rye Beach Rd. Exit, you will get off the highway at the next exit. Get into the far right lane. This is the Huron/Route 6 exit. The exit will go over Route 2 into downtown. Fabens Park is on your right as you descend the hill off Route 2. At the bottom of the hill, slow down and make a right into the park. The entrance is immediately following the hill and directly off the highway, so please be careful.

From the South:

from Route 250 in Norwalk/Milan, take Route 250 North to Route 12. This is the intersection just outside of Milan at the traffic light with a Fire Station on your right. Make that right and follow Route 13 for approximately 7 miles. You will cross over both the Ohio Turnpike and Route 2. Once you cross Route 2 you will soon be in Huron. Slow your speed to 35 mph. Follow Route 13/Mudbrook Rd. into town. As you come into town, you will make a right onto Bogart Rd. This is the intersection at a car wash and Jim’s Pizza Box Restaurant. Make a left onto Bogart Rd. and continue for two blocks. Make the second right onto Center St. Make the second left onto Adams Ave. Follow Adams Ave. into Fabens Park.
