Cleveland Road West/Ohio Street Traffic Light
Please be advised of a change to the function of the traffic light at Cleveland Road West and Ohio Street effective on Monday, October 29th, 2012.
In response to resident inquiries and expressed safety concerns, the traffic light will be operated in full function status (red, yellow green) 24 hours per day/7 days per week beginning Monday, October 29, 2012. This action was recommended by City Administration and supported by the Council Safety Committee.
A traffic analysis currently underway in the community will be expanded to include this intersection. Data, including hard traffic counts, will be recorded at this location to determine the most appropriate operation as established in the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. TMS Engineers, Inc. is an ODOT pre-qualified traffic engineering firm previously retained by the city to study the traffic patterns along Cleveland Road between Berlin Road and the entrance to Fabens Park.
The study is expected to be completed later this year and the traffic signal will remain in the fully functioning status until completion of the study. Its findings will be available to the public and include recommendations which may support a full functioning signal, modified signal or signal removal.

Water Meter Replacement Project
The Huron Water Department is in the process of upgrading its water utility system to include automatic meter reading. As we approach the final stages of this transition, city employees will begin to upgrade residential and commercial water meters througout the city limits. City employees will be installing new meters Monday through Saturday from 6am to 5pm through the remainder of 2012. An average installation requires five minutes of service disruption with little to no change in quality. If water discoloration or aeration (white water) occurs, please allow the water to run freely for several minutes to rid the service line of any debris and/or air. The Water Department thanks you for your patience and cooperation. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Water Filtration Department at 419-433-9502.
