It was a great day for the Pumpkin Festival and Huron River Art Fest! 

October 8th was a picture-perfect Fall Day for the Pumpkin Fest and Huron River Art Fest at the Boat Basin! Thanks for your attendance and support ... hope you had as much fun as we did! 


First Federal Farmers Market - Thursday afternoons

Every Thursday through October 20th -  3:30 - 6:30 pm at the Huron Boat Basin parking lot.  Enjoy fresh produce and specialty items...and support our local growers and vendors!  Information for interested vendors.

2016 FALL YOGA @ Shawnee - Session runs through December 13th

Tuesday evenings,  6 pm - 7 pm; Session runs through December 13, 2016. Yoga with instructor Karen Polvinale. Program accomodates all skill levels - beginners welcome! You are welcome to joing the session after the start date; call us at 419-433-8487.  Registration information.

Huron Boat Basin - Best Live Music Venue again!

Lake Erie Magazine readers have again voted the Huron Boat Basin as one of the area's Best Live Music Venues for 2016!  

Fabens Park Entrance from Rt. 6 Closed  

Oct. 2016 – NOTE: The entrance to FABENS PARK from Rt. 6 is closed due to construction.  Please enter the park from the Adams Ave. entrance.  Approaching from the WEST, go past the Rt. 6 entrance, turn right at the next intersection (Center St.) – then turn right onto Adams Ave. and follow into the park.

Nickel Plate Beach 

 Beach Water Quality Testing is conducted by Erie County Beach Monitoring Program during the season and will resume on Memorial Day weekend in 2017. 



Huron Decals - $5.00 each; donation to the Huron Parks Foundation. Click on the Decal above for mail order form. New option: "static cling" decals can be removed without leaving residue! 

Park Memorials - Donations

The Huron Parks & Recreation Department offers the opportunity for community members to donate lasting memorials to loved ones within our park system. More information is available on our "Parks" page.
