HURON - A GREAT LAKE PLACE!
Welcome to the City of Huron’s new and improved website -- designed specifically to enhance citizen comprehension of municipal operations, policies and projects, issues affecting the community and recognition of the benefits and opportunities present.
During this current period of economic challenge the city is constantly exploring alternatives to its traditional service delivery methods. However, in every challenge there is opportunity and this is the perspective, one of optimism adopted by the Council and implemented by municipal personnel, necessary to overcome any obstacle.
The city is in a period of transition and reform. Its goal is not merely to maintain current levels of service but to understand, and define, new and more effective processes available to deploy limited municipal resources in order to expand and improve services. To accommodate this goal will require the establishment an array of new public policies and practices. Prior to a successful implementation new proposals will need to be understood and shaped with community input.
This website is a collection of resources for your use and understanding. Please look for surveys, project updates and utilize the calendar function to attend meetings and assist in the establishment of new policy. Click here to become an email subscriber and receive updates, alerts and notifications on those subjects you are most interested in. Click here to become a fan and follow municipal updates on the city’s Facebook fan page.
In closing, thank you for visiting our new website. Whether you are a resident, business owner or visitor I look forward to hearing from you and collectively defining the city’s best path to continued and sustainable progress.
